Cover Interviews Reviews TheIndi Home

By Darrell Rellim

'Only in America' can two African American multi-millionaire businessmen with similar checkered past team up to form what could make for the most powerful tandem in sports and entertainment.
Love 'em or hate them, Don King and Michael McCant aka Billionaire Catt met recently in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the mega boxing promoter's office.

There was quite discussion, total silence and even some shouting in a meeting that left many, including veteran sports journalist Kenneth Miller, in the waiting room, eager with anticipation as to what the final outcome was after the intense meeting. Though they did not disclose, many believe that King has chosen McCant to carry the torch and the legacy that took King 30 years to create. Both men came out of the two-hour long meeting with very noticeable smiles on their faces and gave the inclination that the meeting was very successful.

McCant, who has had all eyes on him since announcing the opening of his Billionaire Catt record label and film businesses, is an avid boxing expert.
McCant knows the sport inside and out and is an excellent candidate to succeed in every aspect of an icon such as King.

McCant's knowledge of boxing goes back 30 years, as long as King's legendary reign.
When asked some of his favorite fighters, McCant immediately mentioned Marvin Hagler, Salvador Sanchez, Marco Antonio Barrera, and of course Muhammad Ali.
He also says that he enjoys more modern day fighters such as Floyd Mayweather, Wladimir Klitschko, Samuel Peter and Ricky Hatton.

He stated that he highly respects the old warrior Julio Ceasar Chavez and the late Diego Corrales.
McCant's 'Billionaire Catt Presents' record label has received five star ratings nationally with many music insiders saying that Billionaire Catt may be the hottest label they've ever seen as one unit.
Catt has given tremendous focus to his artists Storm P and Clap Cognac of New York, and A-3 of Houston, along with his label DJ, Superstar Jay.

Catt seems to have one of the hottest ears in hip-hop because Catt plays hit after hit to his staff.
We concur that the Billionaire Catt movement is a dynasty to come, but what really raises eyebrows is that soft drink, liquor, video games, and clothing companies all have been vying to co-brand with Catt, making him the most sought after brand of the next few years.

Now with his venturing into the boxing industry, there is no doubt why this young man's name is Billionaire Catt.
