The Mobile Mixdown, New Urban Hip Hop Show Launches on Sprint Radio
06/25/2009 14:05

Nu Media Entertainment and Move Radio have announced the launch of what’s being called the next generation of music programming for cell phone users. The Mobile Mixdown, is a hybrid new radio show that takes today’s hip-hop culture to another level. The show features incredible digital production combined with world class DJ mixing to create a mesmerizing showcase of today’s hottest sounds. The program will be available to millions of cell phones on Sprint Radio and At&T Mobile Music beginning June 25th.

“The decline of radio is alarming,” said MMD host and producer, Geoff Gill. “Our goal is to create a brand new platform for record labels and upcoming artists. One that helps them to reach today’s complex music buying audience.” The Mobile Mixdown hopes to achieve this by tapping into the vast and ever-growing worldwide wireless network. “We can reach millions of music buyers across the globe who have access right at their fingertips,” said Nu Media Marketing executive Nate Hinkson. “What could be easier than listening to great music on your cell phone. Many users have already put their iPods on the shelf.”

The Mobile Mixdown is hosted by radio personality Geoff Gill (KJLH-FM Los Angeles, V100-FM Los Angeles,) who brings a unique blend of talent and experience to the program. The show also features A-list celebrity appearances from the likes of Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Beyonce and others who have already recorded segments. However it is the DJ ensemble of L.A. Lon & Sir Lance (Video Hot-Mix TV) and Scetch-The Specialist, who really deliver the goods with music mixes that captivate audiences like never before.

In addition to cell phones, The Mobile Mixdown can also be heard on focusonthedj.com, Stop2Listen.com and the soon to be launched MMD website. Negotiations are currently underway other major wireless carriers who have already expressed interest in carrying the show. By the end of 2009, Nu Media expects MMD to be available on more than 75 million phones including Sprint Radio, US Cellular, Altell wireless and more.
