Cherry Lane Taps Lamonte Ball to Oversee Urban Music Division

Lamonte Ball
Lamonte Ball has been named Manager of Creative/A&R, Urban Music for Cherry Lane Music Publishing by Senior Vice President, Creative and Marketing, Richard Stumpf and Director of Creative Services Paul Morgan. Based in New York, Lamonte will be responsible for both new acquisitions and exploiting the catalog of the Urban roster which includes John Legend, will. i. am, The Black Eyed Peas, red hot R&B producer Shea Taylor (Ne-Yo "When You're Mad"), hip-hop producer Antwan "Amadeus" Thompson (Mike Jones "Grandma", Talib Kweli "A Game"), singer-songwriter Meleni Smith and others.

He will also work closely with the current songwriting roster to pursue recordings within the artist community. Previously, Lamonte worked at LaFace Records followed by serving as Production Manager at Usher's management home, J-Pat Management, A&R stints at both RCA and Motown Records as well as managing producers under his own management venture.
