Auto Review Archives - SUVs, Crossovers & Trucks
Just like the sleek brush strokes in the Infiniti television commercial, the FX50 AWD is an automotive work of art. Still building off its redesigned persona last year, the FX50 is a luxurious and technological marvel.
At first look the Infiniti screams refinement and class. The twisted front grille is a subtle precursor to the all the luxury coming your way. Framed by chrome accents the elongated and curvaceous lines shape the silhouette of this sexy beast.

The interior of the FX50 is full of luxury and technological wonderment. Buttery soft leather appointments and maple accents scream sophistication. One of the first in the crossover segment to have full iPod integration (the best in my opinion), the FX50’s Bose system offers concert quality sound aided by 11 speakers, 2 subwoofers and a 9.3 gig hard-drive; large enough to hold any respectable audiophile’s multi-genre playlist. New this year is the Zagat® Restaurant Guide for culinary choices on the go.

Other impressive interior features include: the Around View Monitor (AVM) offering a 360 degree view with Front and Rear Sonar System, XM NavTraffic and NavWeather, 8-inch color display, Streaming audio via Bluetooth, 60/40 split-folding rear seat and steering wheel with multi-function. The available Sport Package adds to the luxury with 21” rims, Sport-style front seats with thigh support for driver and front passenger, dark-tinted headlights, Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor and side air vents.

The performance of the FX50 matches it style and flair. From the initial press of the Push Button Ignition, the 5.0 Liter V8 engine kicks 390hp and 369 lbs-ft of toque blows past a lot of it segment counterparts. With a listed 14/20 mileage, gas consumption is respectable for this class of luxury crossover. The FX50 handles low and tight on curvaceous roads gripping securely at every hard angle. Hints of the G sedan and coupes peek through as the FX50 roars through the straight-aways without skipping a beat.
